Iranians more sensitive to Saudi intervention than Trump’s

TEHRAN, Jan. 02 (MNA) – Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Shamkhani said that "foreign powers are behind the recent riots in Iran, stressing that Saudis will receive a resolute response for their proxy war on the Internet."

Speaking to al-Mayadeen TV network on Monday night, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani noted that a large number of hashtags in relation with recent "riots" in Iran are generated in the United States, Britain, and Saudi Arabia.

“What is happening on the Internet and cyberspace against Iran is a proxy war against the Iranian nation,” Shamkhani added.

Arguing that the terrorist MKO organization are a tool in the hands of Saudis, he stressed that they will receive Iran's proper response.

He highlighted that Saudi Arabia will not be able to cover its defeat in Yemen by interfering in Iran’s internal affairs.

Referring to the fact that the Iranians are more sensitive to Saudi intervention than Trump’s, Ali Shamkhani added "we never wanted the Iranian nation to be so hostile to the ruling kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but the hostility of the Iranian nation against the ruling dynasty of Saudi Arabia is due to their attitude and the Saudi ruling family should be well aware of our response.”

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council further noted that Western hostility to Iran is foolish and their organized intervention is to hinder Iran’s progress.

He concluded that the riots will be over in a few days and it is not a matter of serious concern.

The price hikes triggered demonstrations earlier last week in a number of Iranian cities, with the participants demanding the government resolve the economic woes. Some groups among protesters waged sporadic violence abd riots, causing a number of casualties.
